Finals of the McVeigh Engineering 12’s and Under Challenge

The final of the McVeigh Engineering 12’s and Under Challenge took place at Gransha Equestrian Centre on Thursday 28th December. It was a pleasure to see the children and ponies so well turned out, and riding so professionally.

Mr Finlay McVeigh provided beautiful bridles for the first placed pony in each of the four groups and a variety of other prizes for all the other competitors.
The final placing was decided with winners on the 28th being awarded double points, added to their accumulated scores over the past three phases, dressage, jumping and working hunter.

The results of the days competitions were as follows:

Working Hunter – Cross Poles 1st Zara Townley on Holly, 2nd Lucy Cunningham on Bramble, 3rd Chloe Rooney on Minnie the Minx. 50cm. Class – 1st Megan Houston on Digby 2nd Jazmin Vollands on Starlight 3rd – Sophie Robinson on T. Rex. 60cm Class – 1st Natasha Hamilton on Lisdeen Beauty, 2nd Clare Bankhead on Dusty 3rd Darcy Rollins on Bounce. 70cms Class – 1st Christine McVeigh on Quest 2nd Chloe Mulholland on Holly.

Show Jumping – Double Clears were –Chloe Rooney on Minnie the Minx, Christine McVeigh on Quest, Natasha Hamilton on Lisdeen Beauty, Clare Bankhead on Dusty, Darcy Rollins on Bounce, Zara Mulholland on Star, Jazmin Vollands on Starlight, Emma Thompson on Lougheries Star, Sophie Robinson on T. Rex, Megan Houston on Digby,Lucy Cunningham on Barmble and Darienne Adams on Tully.

First in the four classes in Dressage were Christine McVeigh on Quest, Sophie Robinson on T.Rex, Natasha Hamilton on Lisdeed Beauty and Zara Townley on Holly.
Seconds were Lucy Cunningham on Bramble, Chloe Mulholland on Holly, Clare Bankhead on Dusty and Jazmin Volllands on Starlight, and in their place were Megan Houston on Digby, Darcy Rollins on Bounce, Hohn Hamilton on Skittles.

The overall champions who received the bridles were Zara Townley riding Holly, Sophie Robinson riding T. Rex, Natasha Hamilton riding Lisdeen Beauty and Christine McVeigh riding Quest.

Reserve Champions were Lucy Cunningham on Bramble, Jazmin Vollands on Starlight, Clare Bankhead on Dusty and Chloe Mulholland on Holly.
